Cupid Cupcakery : weddings

TASTINGS/CONSULTATIONS

Cupid Cupcakery suggests that your cake be one of the last things to be booked, as it unites all the elements of the wedding. Once you have given some thought to shape, size and style of cake, it's time to schedule a consult!

Tastings and consultations are by appointment only for events with 75 or more servings, on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. For consultations for events with more than 75 servings, we meet our clients in a public place for consultations, or their home if they would prefer. The first 1 hr. consultation is free, so the more prepared we both are, the more we can accomplish. Additional consultations are billed at 25.00 for 30 minutes.

For events ordering less than 75 servings, Cupid offers design consultations through email or over the phone, as well as takeaway tasting boxes for $10, with up to four flavor selections included. If you choose to book with Cupid, the cost of the tasting box will be applied to your order. Tasting boxes are available for pickup at Cupid on Saturday mornings only, between 10am and noon, subject to the events and orders scheduled that Saturday. Orders for tasting boxes must be placed and paid for no later than Friday at noon.

GRAND TASTING EVENTS

Cupid Cupcakery holds grand tasting events semi-monthly at the beautiful and historic George Clifton Barn in Olde Avon Village, located at 36840 Detroit Rd. Avon, OH 44011. We offer attendees samples of most of our cakes, frostings and fillings. Relax, have a glass of sparkling wine, enjoy the music, and taste until your heart is content. If evening appointments don't work for you, this is an excellent way to spend a Sunday afternoon and taste our widest selection of offerings. Our next two events are scheduled for Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 1pm-4pm, and Sunday April 22, 2012 from 1pm-4pm. There is no charge, but registration is required to attend. WEDDING CAKES: BRIDES CAKE

Cupid Cupcakery offers cakes in round, square, hexagon, paisley (comma) and petal shapes. Our cakes are made with four layers of cake and three layers of filling. You can offer guests up to two flavors of cake for no additional cost. We can combine shapes or play with the height of the tier to add interest and to make the cake the appropriate scale for your venue.

The size of your cake is determined by how many servings you will need. We offer a handy cake size and serving reference chart. We suggest ordering one serving per guest if the cake will be the only dessert offered, because despite what you've heard, if you offer guests GOOD cake, they will eat it. If you are offering a dessert table or sweet buffet, order enough cake for 2/3 the number of guests attending.

For outdoor summer events, please note that we only offer cakes with a fondant finish... flies and other bugs like to stick to buttercream, ick.

WEDDING CAKES: GROOMS CAKE

Intended to be a gift from the bride to the groom, Cupid Cupcakery can design a groom's cake to reflect the groom's interests and hobbies. A groom's cake can be used as the dessert at the rehearsal dinner or as an alternative choice to the bride's cake at the wedding. This cake is optional, and if chosen, will be quoted separately (and secretly!) for brides who want to gift the cake to the groom.

WEDDING CAKES: KITCHEN CAKES

We offer undecorated kitchen cakes for couples who are having a wedding in the heat of the summer outside (and are using a faux cake for outdoor display), or are looking for ways to economize. Kitchen cakes are similar in size to sheet cakes, but have 4 layers of cake and 3 layers of filling, just like the display cake, so all of your guests are enjoying the same cake and filling combinations. We do not offer sheet cakes (1 layer of cake, 1 layer of buttercream.)

WEDDING CUPCAKES

Cupid Cupcakery offers wedding cupcakes in standard and mini size. You can offer guests up to four flavors for no additional cost. We recommend one standard size cupcake per invited guest, or two to three minis per invited guests. The final number is really based on whether you are choosing to serve other desserts at the wedding. Most of our couples choose to order a 6 inch cutting cake, decorated like a mini wedding cake, for their display so they have something to cut during the reception.

CAKE PLATEAUS, CAKE PLATES, CUPCAKE STANDS AND DISPLAY RENTAL OPTIONS

Cupid Cupcakery has cake plateau, cake plates, cupcake stand and cupcake bar rentals available for $25.00 (this is not a per stand fee - it is for the entire setup). A refundable deposit of $150 is required for rentals. Rentals must be returned to Cupid Cupcakery within 4 days of the event, in excellent condition, with no missing or broken pieces, to receive a deposit refund. Click to see rentals If you are interested in a more custom display, we are happy to work with you to get the look you want. If the rental is not returned on time in excellent condition, we will immediately cash your deposit check. Since many couples go on their honeymoon right after the ceremony, you must give us the contact information for the person who will be responsible for returning the rental (May we suggest the same person who is returning tux rentals?) Please remember that if we do not receive our rentals back in a timely fashion, then another bride or groom may be disappointed.

DELIVERY

Cupid Cupcakery will provide delivery for a mileage charge of $0.50/mile, roundtrip, from our location in Fairview Park to the event venue. We determine mileage using Google Maps.

SETUP

If Cupid Cupcakery is providing delivery, Cupid will set up for no extra charge for cakes and cupcakes. Cupid will need access to the event venue approximately 2 hours before-hand. If the venue is indoors, it will need to be air-conditioned for several hours prior to delivery. If it is an outdoor summer event, it is BEST to have the cake brought out by catering staff just before the cutting. At any other time of the year, it should be set up in a shady spot, out of direct sunlight. We do not recommend leaving a cake or cupcakes on display in the elements, as sun and heat will melt frosting, and bugs love sweets. If you are determined to have a cake on display throughout your outdoor summer reception, we recommend using a decorated faux cake for display outdoors, and undecorated kitchen cakes left inside in the A/C to serve to your guests.

PICK-UP

PICK-UP IS NOT RECOMMENDED. Pick-up of your cake or cupcakes is subject to event day availability. If, despite us recommending against it, you choose to pick-up, Cupid Cupcakery cannot and will not be responsible for any mishaps with cakes or cupcakes once they leave our premises. We take a picture of every cake or cupcake setup as soon as we are done to show proof of the condition we gave it/left it in. Bring an SUV, wagon or mini van with a flat, level bottom. Insure it is completely cold and air-conditioned, and allow yourself at least DOUBLE the time to drive to the venue. If cake or cupcakes are destroyed during delivery, subject to that day's schedule, we may or may not be available to come repair your cake for you, at a rate of $25/hr.

DEPOSIT AND DEPOSIT REFUND POLICY

A non-refundable deposit of $100 and a signed contract is required at the time all orders are placed to reserve a date and product. If the order is completed, this deposit will be applied to the balance owed. If the order is cancelled, or final payment is not made when due, Cupid Cupcakery will retain this deposit.

PAYMENT

Cupid Cupcakery requires a non-refundable $100 deposit AND a signed contract to secure your date. The remaining balance is due on a business day NO LATER than 14 days prior to your event date. If Cupid Cupcakery does not receive final payment BY THE DUE DATE, then your order will not be completed, and your deposit will not be refunded. Simply put, no cake leaves our kitchen until it is fully paid for. Cupid accepts check and secure credit and debit card payments through Google Checkout (preferred method). If you choose to pay with Google Checkout, we will automatically invoice you for the balance 3 weeks before the event date. If you choose to pay the balance with a check, we do NOT make reminder calls and emails for final payment. It is your responsibility to remember and comply with the contract you enter into with us, and send the payment on time.
